Low Vision Assessment Clinic
The Low Vision Assessment Clinic started at Ida Rieu in the year 2000 in collaboration with the Site Savers International Islamabad. Since the day of commencement it is functioning smoothly and successfully.
Those children having low vision are receiving education through Close Circuit Televisions (C.C.T.V.s), Telescopes and Magnifying Glasses attached Reading Stands and Lamps. Through these equipments their vision has improved considerably and they are feeling more comfortable in their reading and writing process. These low vision students are being taught with the help of Enlarge Print Books.
The Standard of education of these children with low vision is improving day by day and they are becoming less-dependent on others in their practical life.
The Hostels and Library have been furnished with the C.C.T.V.s so that the students can enjoy the television programs and can also read the books of their choice in large prints at their leisure time.
